Miverta is a new 100% Organic herbal formulation to naturally support those who suffer from headaches. It was developed by a Nationally and California licensed herbalist and acupuncturist who specializes in headaches, and was also a long-term sufferer of them. This formula, which has been very effective in private practice is now available to the public.
Headache sufferers can now enjoy the benefits of being headache free while also being chemical and pesticide free!
Introducing Miverta Organic with ingredients grown without the use of conventional pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers and processed without ionizing radiation or food additives.
FOR
Headaches occurring near the temples (temporal), behind the eyes (ocular), top of the head (vertex), or the back of the head and neck (occipital). Headache pain may be characterized as throbbing, piercing, distending, or dull in nature with an empty feeling in the head that is relieved with pressure. In women, this type of headache may be worsened near or during menstruation. Other symptoms that may accompany the headache are dry/thin hair and skin, nausea, dizziness and possibly vomiting, irritability, blurry or dull vision, restless sleep, poor memory, or scanty periods. 2-3 capsules twice daily for at least 2 weeks.
RATIONALE
In Traditional Chinese Theory, mild and occasional headaches can have many different etiologies. Based on the location and characteristics of the headache, the individual's constitutional make up, and physical observation, Traditional Chinese practitioners differentiate the type of headache and proper protocol. Addressing mild and occasional headaches solely by anti-inflammatory, opiate, or vasoconstrictive drugs can provide short-term relief at the expense of long-term side effects, without addressing underlying causes. By addressing both the root cause and the symptoms of mild and occasional headaches, benefits can be more effective and lasting.
Chinese herbal formulas are more than a summation of their ingredients. Rather than blending individual components that have a known benefit toward a certain complaint, Chinese herbal formulations are often constructed as an army or government with each ingredient playing a unique role for the formula's overall effectiveness and safety. Using these principles, Miverta addresses three very common presentations in Traditional Chinese Herbalism; Blood deficiency, Wind, and Stagnation of Qi and Blood.

FAQ
Q: Are there any side effects?
A: No side effects have been reported from the usage of Miverta; however, according to Traditional Chinese Herbal Herbalism texts, some of the ingredients may be difficult to digest by weakened digestive systems. If this is the case, take Miverta with warm meals.
Because many of the herbs in the formula have a mild detoxifying effect on the liver, some may experience symptoms of detoxification commonly called a "healing crisis" or "herxheimer reaction" . This reaction occurs when the body tries to eliminate toxins at a faster rate than they can be properly disposed of. The more toxic one's bodily systems are, the more severe the detoxification. If symptoms such as fatigue, body aches, mild headache, or others appear, reduce the dosage to 1 capsule per day and drink 2-4 quarts of water per day. When the symptoms subside, increase the dosage back to 1-2 capsules twice daily.
Q: Are there any drug interactions I should be concerned about?
A: Do not use Miverta if you are currently taking anticoagulant or antiplatlet medications such as warfarin (Coumadin), heparin, or clopidogrel (Plavix). Dong Quai Root and Sichuan Lovage Rhizome may have potentiating or additive effects with the drugs. Though this interaction has not been documented in vivo (in humans), and Miverta only contains 15% of both Sichuan lovage rhizome and Dong quai root, patients taking anticoagulant or antiplatlet drugs should still avoid taking Miverta to err on the side of caution.
As with all herbal and vitamin supplements, discretion must used with the coadministration of pharmaceuticals. Not all interactions can be foreseen or predicted so it is wise to avoid taking supplements and drugs together. Taking supplements 1-2 hours away from drugs is an important safety measure to avoid unwanted interactions. Ask your healthcare provider for more information.
