Baked Brie

Molten, gooey brie baked in a Himalayan salt bowl — its own edible salt casing — for an effortless showpiece.

Vegetarian Oven Serves 6 18 min

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Place the Himalayan salt bowl in a cold oven and heat to 350°F over about 25 minutes so it warms evenly and never cracks.
  2. Nestle the brie wheel into the warm salt bowl — our 6" bowl is sized to fit a wheel almost exactly, so the brie bakes in its own edible salt casing that seasons the cheese all around as it melts.
  3. Bake 12-15 minutes until the center is molten and the top just begins to bubble.
  4. Drizzle with honey, scatter walnuts and thyme, and serve straight from the bowl with crackers or baguette.
Salt Block Tip

The 6" Himalayan salt bowl is the perfect vessel here — it cradles a standard brie wheel exactly, becoming an edible salt casing that seasons the cheese as it bakes and doubles as a striking serving dish. Keep the rind on so the molten center stays contained.
