Vegan · Salt Block Recipe

Charred Brussels Sprouts

Caramelized, crispy-leafed Brussels sprouts with a sweet-tangy glaze.

Vegan BBQ or Oven Serves 4 18 min

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Heat your Himalayan salt block gradually to prevent cracking: 15 minutes on low, then raise the heat in stages over another 10-15 minutes until it reaches searing temperature (about 450-500°F). In the oven, place the cold block in a cold oven and heat to 450°F over 30 minutes.
  2. Toss sprouts with oil and pepper.
  3. Place cut-side down on the hot block and cook 6-7 minutes until deeply caramelized.
  4. Turn and cook another 5-6 minutes until tender.
  5. Whisk maple and balsamic, toss with the sprouts, and serve.
Salt Block Tip

Cut-side down and undisturbed is the secret to a caramelized, crispy face.
