A 5 to 11 lb lamp covers a typical bedroom or office (up to 12 by 12 ft). 15 to 30 lb lamps suit living rooms (up to 20 by 20 ft). For commercial spaces and large open rooms, choose 40 lbs or larger. Bigger lamps emit more warm amber light.
